SUMMARY:  

Ensures an efficient flow of materials to and from the warehouse and the production floor by performing the following duties.  This position reports to the Operations Manager, in the Operations Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Distributes stock to the production floor, keeps records, and resolves discrepancies as necessary.
  • Performs cycle counts of inventory.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.
  • Counts, sorts, and weighs incoming materials to verify receipt.
  • Labels and stores materials appropriately based on type of material and system location.
  • May help determine methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and space.
  • May help examine stock to verify conformance to specifications.
  • May help arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of firearms is a plus!

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers, both internal and external. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to perform detailed work and to troubleshoot accounting problems. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Good general knowledge of common computer applications.  Experience with ERP/MRP and/or MS Office preferred.
